Our History
Metu Zhongtong Bus Industries was started by Mr. Metu Katabazi, its Chairman and proprietor. It begun operations in 2011 with the selling of spare parts of heavy vehicles and later it ventured into the assembling of 67-seater buses in June 2018.
The Company has engaged in Research and Development, production and sales of coaches and buses since then and is currently setting up an automobile production plant in Kasese.

The GKMA City Bus Initiative
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the METU Bus Industries have finalized plans to manufacture city buses for the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA).
The idea of producing buses in Kampala is to lessen the congestion in the Central Business District(the number of low capacity automobiles), provide affordable transportation to all within the GKMA, facilitate technological advancements in the local automobile industry, provide employment and so much more.
